‘GOLF FORE THE CHILD’… A Big Success

It was a beautiful day at Majestic Oaks Golf course on September 9th when family and friends came out to enjoy a round of golf and to support our very first annual event of "Golf Fore the Child".

A big THANK YOU to all golfers, sponsors and volunteers. You all made the day a huge success!

We were able to raise over $2,200 to help the disadvantaged children in Kenya who depend on us. This money will provide basic needs such as food and educational materials for over 90 children for two months at the Arise N' Shine Nursery School in Kisumu, Kenya.

The overwhelming positive responses from all involved is a testament to the event’s success in bringing people together to have fun AND to make a difference at the same time. We are truly moved by the passion and commitment that all of you have shown in supporting our mission here at Hope for the Child.

Golfers of all abilities enjoyed the fun, food and great prizes. Prizes included gift certificates from Outback Steakhouse and Massage Therapies as well as wine baskets, training packages, authentic African jewelry and much more.

A special thanks to our event sponsors:  Lions Gym, TJA Williams Investments, The Creative Healing Center (Jill Goux), Waterstone Mortgage Corporation (Darren Lutgen), Pizza Man (Blaine).  Your generosity is much appreciated and key to the success of this wonderful event.

We look forward to seeing you all next year!

Who are we?
Hope for the Child, founded in 2007, is a non-profit organization based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The goal of Hope for the Child is to foster the education, growth, development, and eventually societal leadership of orphans or otherwise disadvantaged children in Kisumu, Kenya and surrounding communities.

Arise N' Shine Academy

Our first project, Arise N' Shine Academy, has been developed and is currently a nursery school, daycare, and first grade facility serving 120 disadvantaged and/or orphaned children in Kisumu. Along with school lessons, the Academy also provides food, shelter, healthcare, and clothing to all of the children.

Asembo Well Project Mtoto Village

Our concurrent initiative, Project Mtoto, aims to provide a home, a school, a water-well, library and farming land that will not only serve the children at Project Mtoto, but the community at large.

Asembo Water Well
Additionally, we are working diligently to provide a water well for the destitute villagers of Asembo who have sincerely and urgently requested our help.
